Sweet Southern charm takes root in Southern California. An Atlanta family creates a comfy, casual home with a sunny, kick off your flip flops attitude.
The Vibe: This thoroughly modern home – a just right farmhouse/beach house blend – is a collaboration between the architect Eric Olsen, know for his signature use of raw wood and industrial materials, and the owner and decorator, Lauren Scott. A shared vision of an open, unpretentious home made the design/build process as easy and breezy as the interiors.
The Details: The original, classic white kitchen received a fresh update with floor to ceiling wood embellishments, including a band of reclaimed boards around the sleek range hood. Nubby oversized (they are 2′ tall!) baskets are re-purposed as light fixtures adding texture and a surf and sand feel to the inviting space.
The Scoop: This coastal escape is a wave of fresh air! Sunkist and light filled, the organic, country character of this single family home is an ideal backdrop for foodie, decor and furnishings, or modern family lifestyle looks. Shoot friendly and always camera ready, this home is as hot as a bikini body with a golden tan.
